South Tyler Animal Clinic does not need a building or fancy medical equipment to serve their community of Tyler, Texas to impact its members. This past June, they had the opportunity to provide medical care to homeless pets belonging to members of Church Under a Bridge, a local church that hosts services in heavily homeless populated areas. This area of East Texas has harsh winters of snow and storms, and brutal summers of extreme heat, that do not fare well for the homeless population. This drives the church’s mission imperative to provide basic human needs to this community. According to The Tyler Loop, a local media source, nearly 500 people in Tyler are experiencing homelessness, and nearly triple that is the population of homeless pets.
Through generous donations from South Tyler Animal Clinic patients and supporters, vaccines, food, and preventatives were able to be provided to these desperate pets in need.
